BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Three men are now happy after spending two weeks chasing a huge gator in Berkeley County.

Chase Cummins, Michael Strickland and Robbie Strickland all from Clinton, have been hunting down this big beast up and down the Diversion Canal. After much persistence, they finally landed the gator Thursday night and brought their prize to Cordray's Venison Processing in Ravenel.

The gator was 12 feet and 6 inches long and weighed about 770 pounds.

Cordray's says this is the heaviest gator they've seen so far this year.
