NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police say a car that was found in the water near the Cosgrove Bridge was a stolen vehicle. Dozens of emergency personnel were called out Tuesday night after reports of a car in the water.
Upon arriving at the incident scene, authorities found the car halfway submerged in the water.
At first, emergency crews believed a person may be trapped inside the car, but police now believe the car was abandoned and no one was inside.
Authorities worked to remove the car from the water. They also checked the surrounding water areas to make sure that no one had been in the vehicle.
The incident is still being investigated.
