Man accused of kidnapping wife out on $50k bond

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 24-year-old man accused of kidnapping his wife and dragging her into the woods in North Charleston has been released on a $50,000 personal recognizance bond.

Cornelius James Jr. was in bond court Wednesday morning to face charges of kidnapping and first degree criminal domestic violence for his role in a fight on Old Hertz Road in North Charleston.

Witnesses told police they saw a man and woman arguing before the suspect dragged the woman out of a house and into a wooded area. James was eventually caught.

Officers set up a perimeter and a short time later the woman came out of the woods.  After no response from James, a K-9 entered the woods and the suspect was caught.
