LADSON, SC (WCSC) - A truck crashed into a house early Thursday morning in Ladson while the family inside was fast asleep. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The pick-up truck smashed into the Columbia Drive home around 3:45 a.m. Thursday, causing major damage. The truck was towed away, but left a huge hole in the side of the home. Luckily, no one was hurt.

The homeowner says the truck hit the master bedroom while she and her husband were inside sleeping.

"We were laying in bed and woke up to a truck in our bedroom, on top of our bed basically," said homeowner Natasha Foster. "The hole is caving in."

The driver of the truck, Kirt Southerland of Moncks Corner, was arrested and charged with DUI. He was also fined for driving an uninsured motor vehicle.

"He hit so hard that all the way to the end of my house has shifted," Foster said. "We're just lucky that no one was hurt."

Foster said she never imagined she would be waking up like this. The couple, along with their two children, are OK.
