SC cities named some of the worst places for fall allergies

Posted: Updated:

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A few South Carolina cities were named some of the worst places in the country for dealing with fall allergies, though the Palmetto State doesn't have any cities in the top 10.

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America report named Columbia the 18th-worst city for fall allergies, up from No. 26 in 2010. The AAFA report uses seasonal pollen scores, estimated medicine use per allergy patient, and the number of board-certified allergists per patient to rank cities.

Elsewhere in the state, Greenville and Charleston took the No. 31 and 32 spots, up from 44 and 43 respectively. Charlotte, North Carolina was ranked No. 20 for allergies, down from No. 16 in 2010.

The No. 1 city in the country for allergies, according to the report, is Knoxville, Tennessee. You can see the rest of the top 10 cities by clicking here.
