KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – Kiawah
Island Golf Resort announced Thursday the dates for two of its most popular golf
tournaments: The Sixth Annual Friendship Cup two-man team event will take
place March 1-4, 2012, on the world famous Ocean Course, site of the 2012 PGA
Championship, and the Tom Fazio-designed Osprey Point Golf Course.
In
addition, the 13th Annual National Pro-Am, a 72-hole stroke play event
featuring teams of three amateurs and one club professional, will take place March
11-15. 2012.
Sponsored by Club Car, the event will be held on four of
Kiawah Island Golf Resort's championship courses including The Ocean Course,
Jack Nicklaus' Turtle Point, Gary Player's Cougar Point and Osprey Point. The
tournament format includes four-man best ball gross and net, as well as
professional stroke play.
Now in its 13th year, the Kiawah Island Golf
Resort National Pro-am attracts teams from across the country, even teams from
overseas. New this year, club professionals can bring up to 6 of their
members (two teams) with the professional's score being used with both
teams. The National Pro-am is the perfect way to jumpstart the game for
the 2012 golf season.
