One person injured in N. Charleston shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - An overnight shooting left one person injured in North Charleston. The shooting happened just after midnight Friday, outside a house on West Surrey Drive, which is off of Dorchester Road.

North Charleston police say they arrived on scene to find a man shot, inside his car in the back of a house.

The victim told officers he and a woman pulled up to her house and parked the car. As they were about to exit, an unknown suspect ran up on them and fired shots at the car.

The man then ran to store in the 3900 Block of Dorchester Road for help.

Police say they found six shells on the ground a few feet from the car.

The victim was taken to MUSC with non-life threatening injuries. Police have not made any arrests.
