Ex-judge, SC lawmaker James "Tee" Ferguson dies

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - Funeral arrangements are pending for former South Carolina House member and judge James "Tee" Ferguson.

His daughter Stinson Ferguson said Sunday the 60-year-old former lawmaker died Friday. She said Ferguson died of natural causes in Virginia, but wouldn't give other details.

The former state representative and sitting Circuit Court judge was convicted of selling his vote and pleaded guilty to cocaine possession.

Ferguson served more than two years in prison. He ran for U.S. Senate in 2004 as a United Citizens Party candidate.
