Motorcyclist killed outside of Orangeburg

ORANGEBURG, SC (WIS) - The driver of a 1995 motorcycle was killed late Saturday night after crashing into a car turning into a driveway according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Officials with the Highway Patrol say the motorcyclist was traveling south on Cannon Bridge Road around 10:15pm when he struck a 1994 Dodge truck.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say he was wearing a helmet.

Meanwhile, the driver and the passenger inside the Dodge, identified as 22-year-old Kent Dash and 19-year-old Britney Sharperson, were uninjured. Both were wearing seatbelts.

The motorcyclist has not yet been identified, but a call has been placed to the Orangeburg County Coroner's office for more information.
