ST. STEPHEN, SC (WCSC) - Fire officials in St. Stephen are still investigating what led to a fire that injured three firefighters when part of a building collapsed Monday morning.
The fire started at a barber shop at the corner of Highway 52 and Albany Street just before 2 a.m. Monday.
Officials say approximately forty firefighters were on scene when the front of the building collapsed, trapping and injuring 3 firefighters, who are are all expected to be OK.
The barber shop was destroyed in the fire, which was brought under control around 5 a.m.
Officials said they were still investigating the cause of the fire.
