CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County sheriff's deputies and North Charleston police are investigating a shooting that injured a 25-year-old woman early Thursday morning.
Investigators responded to Trident Hospital and discovered that the woman had been shot while riding in a vehicle with two other people near on Highway 78.
The victim told deputies that a second vehicle came along side and fired shots. Investigators found multiple shell casings at the scene near Shipley Street, which is about a half mile from Interstate 26.
A victim sustained injuries to her left forearm and her thigh after being shot. The victim was dropped off at the hospital by the driver of the vehicle she was a passenger in.
The shooting suspect's vehicle is described as a champagne or white in color sedan, possibly a Buick. It was occupied by two men.
Three of the four lanes of Highway 78 were closed while authorities investigated, but all lanes are now back open.
