Walterboro police look for suspect who escaped from cop car

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Walterboro police are looking for a man they say escaped from a police car after being arrested on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, obstructing a law enforcement officer and driving under suspension.

Police arrested 45-year-old Carl C. Glover, of Ridgeville, just after 11 p.m. Thursday. The suspect was transported to police headquarters where he was able to escape from the patrol car.

Police searched for Glover, but were unable to locate him.

Glover was last seen wearing a camouflage jacket with sewn on captain bars, blue jeans and a dark colored shirt. Glover is approximately 5'6" and weighs about 145 pounds.

According to police, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a stolen 2000 Ford Ranger with faulty tags. The driver pulled over, got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. After a short chase, the officer was able to catch the suspect, Glover, and place him under arrest.

Glover was later able to escape the patrol car after being transported to police headquarters.
