JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Authorities have located a wanted sex offender accused of removing his GPS tracking device.
On Wednesday night, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Kason Blease Carter on Folly Road on James Island for willful violation of term or condition of electrical monitoring.
Carter, 36, had been sought since Sept. 9 after it was discovered that he had unlawfully removed his electronic monitoring device. Carter has a history of failing to register as a sex offender.
A bond hearing was held on Thursday resulting in a $50,000 bond.
