NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - It should be a smoother ride to work and school Monday morning for many who travel along Interstate 26. All lanes and ramps along I-26 are now back open.
There are now four through lanes on I-26 in both directions. Motorists have direct access to Remount Road from I-26 east and to I-26 west.
There are two ways to get to Boeing and Joint Base Charleston, which will also help ease congestion. Of the two, Remount road was widened and a traffic signal was installed where it hits South Aviation.
There are also no more double lane shifts coming on to I-26 east from Ashley Phosphate and onto I-26 west from I-526.
