Weekend robberies still unsolved, but not linked

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Two robberies over the weekend have Charleston police on the hunt for suspects.

The first robbery happened at the Kangaroo B.P. gas station on Savannah Highway early Saturday morning. The second happened Sunday evening at Five Guys Burgers and Fries, also on Savannah Highway.

Just after 7 p.m. Saturday, police say a man walked into the Kangaroo gas station and demanded money.  Witnesses told police they didn't see a weapon, but the man had his hand inside his jacket as though he did have one.

The second robbery was at Five Guys Burgers and Fries on Sunday night just before 8:30.

According to the incident report, a black man with scarring under his left eye walked into the restaurant armed with a handgun and demanded money. Witnesses say he is an older man approximately 6'0" and he walked with a limp.

Investigators don't believe the two robberies are linked.
