WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - A scrap iron fire is now out at a car crushing business in Hemingway after about six hours.
According to Williamsburg County Fire Chief Randy Swinton, the fire started around 1 a.m. at Don's Car Crushing in Hemingway. The fire was under control by 7 a.m. Firefighters plan to be on seen for a bit longer to make sure there are no more flare ups.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the fire. No other injuries were reported and fire officials are not sure how the fire started.
A fire in Holly Hill last month was also at Don's Car Crushing.
