CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A 37-year-old man who was found with heroin told police officers that the drugs were for his own personal use and not for sale.
The Charleston Police Department charged Larondo Wright with possession of heroin.
On Tuesday afternoon, police saw Wright riding a bicycle, weaving back and forth onto oncoming traffic and riding erratically down Sheppard Street towards Nassau Street.
Police stopped the bicyclist and asked Wright for his identification. The suspect said he did not have his identification on him.
Authorities discovered that Wright had an active warrant for a family court offense and arrested Wright. A police report states that a clear baggy with an unknown brownish substance, which tested positive for heroin, was found in the suspect's left jacket pocket.
The suspect told the officer that the heroin was for personal use and he was not trying to sell it.
