Officials: Credit card thief used victim's toilet and didn't flush

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Authorities say a homeowner was tipped off to credit card embezzlement when he returned home this week to find that an unwanted visitor had forgotten to flush the toilet.

The victim told Walterboro Public Safety officers that when he returned home from lunch on Monday, he noticed that certain items in his house were stolen.  He also noticed that someone had used his restroom and not flushed the toilet.

After speaking with his daughter, he learned that her credit card had unauthorized charges.

Jenna Polk was arrested the following day for burglary, breaking and entering, and credit card fraud.

Police say Polk used the credit card at a Wal-Mart racking close to $130 in charges.  She also spent $80 at a shoe store.

A witness confirmed that Polk had been at the victim's residence the day of the robbery.
