CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Department of Labor is now using a social networking site to help fight rising unemployment rates. Officials say a new partnership with Facebook will help get meaningful and read to use information out to job seekers and employers.
Facebook's new social jobs partnership page is a site where job seekers can find training programs, educational opportunities and job search resources.
Facebook has also committed to help drive traffic to the page through public service announcements that will appear to users in cities with high unemployment rates. Facebook is hoping that this new site will connect unemployed Americans with employers, recruiters, career services and government agencies.
In the coming months, there will be even more job resources available on Facebook's site.
