RAVENEL, SC (WCSC) - A Charleston County sheriff's deputy was involved in an accident Friday morning in Ravenel after state troopers say another car collided with unmarked cruiser while making a left turn.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the accident at 6:50 a.m. on Highway 17 at Highway 174 in Ravenel.
According to state troopers, a 1999 Volvo was traveling south on Highway 17 when it made a left turn and collided with an unmarked Charleston County sheriff's department vehicle.
The driver of the Volvo, 66-year-old Mark Hays, has been charged with charged with failing to yield the right of way.
According to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, the deputy is expected to be OK.
The collision is still under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
