12 injured after van overturns twice on interstate

HAMPTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) -

Colleton County emergency officials say 12 people were injured after a van overturned twice Monday afternoon in Hampton County.

Emergency crews responded to mile marker 37 southbound on I-95 regarding an accident. Authorities say several people were ejected after the van overturned twice.

According to emergency officials, 12 people were transported to local hospitals with non critical injuries.

Southbound I-95 was backed up for 14 miles as crews worked the scene.  Authorities say an earlier accident on mile marker 48 sounthbound involving an overturned camper also contributed to the backup.

    Emergency officials say police are working a high speed pursuit in North Charleston Wednesday evening.  According to authorities, it happened on Ashley Phosphate.  A call for the incident originated in the 5400 block of Rock Creek Court where police responded to a physical disturbance involving a weapon, emergency officials said.  We've reached out to police for more information.  Copyright 2018 WCSC.
