CCSD superintendent's contract extended after positive evaluation

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County School District Superintendent Nancy McGinley is making the grade.

In McGinley's annual evaluation she earned a 3.17 on a scale of 1 to 4, which means she has exceeded standards.

Seventy-five percent of the evaluation is based on student achievement and test scores while the other 25 percent is subjective, based on the school board's leadership ratings and a survey of key staff.

The board voted to give McGinley a one-year extension through Dec 31 of 2014.
