Cops: Armed robbers forced man to strip on sidewalk

WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - Authorities are looking for three suspects after a man was forced to take off his clothes Friday night during an armed robbery in Walterboro.

Walterboro Public Safety officers responded to the corner of Carn and Rivers streets just after the alleged robbery at 9 p.m. The victim told police that as he was walking down Carn Street a black Buick pulled up beside him and three men jumped out.

The victim said they surrounded him and one of the men pulled out a knife and pushed it up against his side. The men then told the victim to take off all his clothes and give them to them.

The victim said he took off his shirt, pants, and shoes and gave it to the men, who jumped back into the Buick and took off.

The victim said he couldn't give a good description of the suspects, but he said one of the men was dark-skinned with a full beard and "twists in his hair." The other two suspects were also black males but they were of a lighter complexion, the victim said.

The report states that the victim's clothes and shoes were worth about $210, and his wallet containing $25 in cash was also stolen.
