Man struck by car after 'Skinful party' dies

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) -

The 25-year-old man that authorities say was hit by a drunk driver while walking after the "Skinful Halloween party" on James Island has died.

The Charleston County Coroner's Office confirmed that 25-year-old Beau Froehlich died Tuesday morning.

Deputies charged 31-year-old Matthew Fisher with felony DUI after they say he hit Beau Froehlich who was walking in the road after the Skinful Halloween party on Oct. 23.

Deputies say Fisher was driving near the intersection of Folly and South Grimball Road around 3 a.m. when he struck Froehlich. According to investigators, the suspect then drove to the fire station on Folly Road.

After field sobriety tests were done, investigators say the suspect showed signs of impairment and was arrested for felony DUI.
