CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The College of Charleston Student Government announced on Tuesday that Ross Kressel has resigned as president of the student body.
Kressel was involved in impeachment proceedings in September after he was accused of offensive Twitter comments about women, African Americans and some of his colleagues.
He admitted to the college's newspaper his tweets were unprofessional, inappropriate and misguided. He said he wanted to fix the damage, but that his tweets were private.
The school's student government association says that Kressel submitted his resignation on Tuesday and the board announced the school's student body vice president, Elliot Wright, as the college's new student body president.
