SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -

Summerville police officers arrested a 22-year-old man after they say he attempted to move a fire truck that was blocking his car early Wednesday morning.

Authorities charged Antoine Hamilton of Goose Creek with interfering with public property.

The fire department was working a medical call at the Grove Apartment complex on 325 Midland Parkway when Hamilton asked the crew to move the fire truck because it was blocking his vehicle, officials say.

Authorities say the priority at the time was the patient and not the truck's position.

An incident report states that Hamilton then entered the fire truck and put the truck in reverse. Fire officials say that the truck did not move due to air brakes that were not released.

A firefighter then told Hamilton to get out of the truck. Hamilton was then placed under arrest. He was given a $1500 bond.
