Authorities continue to search for leads in girl's shooting death

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is continuing to look for clues in the shooting death of 5-year-old Allison Griffor.

Last week, authorities announced a reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever shot and killed Griffor who was shot in the head while sleeping in her West Ashley home.  Sheriff Al Cannon says the pellets used in the shooting are similar to deer shot pellets.

The sheriff says if the killer's friends know something and don't come forward, they will be prosecuted.

"We're going to find this individual and if any of his friends know anything about it, they better come forward because they won't have any opportunity otherwise," Sheriff Cannon said."If they don't come forward, they go down with this individual."

The shooting happened at a home on Pierpont Avenue. Griffor's father was also injured, but is doing fine.

"I've been in this business for a long time and I've seen a lot of terrible and tragic events. This is right at the top of the list," Cannon said.

If you know anything about the murder of this little girl, please call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111. You don't have to give your name and may earn a cash reward.
