LINCOLNVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Charleston County sheriff's deputies are investigating a shooting and attempted armed robbery Friday afternoon.
Deputies responded to an area hospital around 10:50 a.m. Friday after reports that a male victim was receiving medical care for a gunshot wound.
The victim told deputies that he was walking on Gahagan Road in Lincolnville when he was approached by two men in the area of West Carolina and Boundary Streets. According to the victim, one of the men brandished a firearm and said "Give me what you got."
The suspects and the victim then got into a brief struggle and the victim was shot in the leg. The suspect's fled the area on foot.
One of the suspects is described as a black male, about 21 to 22 years old. He has dreadlocks and a teardrop tattoo by his eye. The second suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, about 18 years old. He is around 5'9" and has short hair.
The victim's injuries are not considered life threatening, according to authorities.
Deputies are still investigating the incident.
