COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley's book will be out Jan. 3.
Haley's publisher Sentinel/Penguin confirmed the release date for "Can't is Not an Option" on Tuesday.
Haley, the state's first woman chief executive, took office in January. In an interview in March with The Associated Press, the Bamberg-born daughter of Indian immigrants said that writing the book is therapeutic.
She has said people have wanted to know more about the challenges she faced growing up and entering politics.
That includes South Carolina's notoriously nasty politics, which were on full display during the 2010 Republican primary. First a blogger and then a statehouse lobbyist came forward with unproven allegations they had sexual encounters with Haley.
She denied the allegations and went on to win with around 52 percent of the vote.
