4 Charleston City Council races decided, 5th goes to runoff

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

James Lewis Jr., Marvin D. Wagner, Keith Waring and Aubry Alexander all won Charleston City Council seats Tuesday night. A fifth council seat will go to a runoff.

James Lewis Jr. won the district 3 seat with 916 votes, beating out Wilmot Alfred Fraser's 562 votes. Luqman S. Rasheed (55), Willard S. Sheppard (70) and Bob Thompson (99) rounded out the results.

A runoff will be held at a later date for district 11 for candidates Laura Dukes Beck who received 657 votes and Bill Moody who got 915.

In district 5, Marvin D. Wagner earned a council seat with 491 votes. He beat out Michael Ray Mack's 339 votes. 

Other winners include Keith Waring in district 7 and Aubry Alexander in district 9.

Official winners will be called on Thursday.
