2 incumbents, 2 newcomers win Mt. Pleasant council seats

With more than 90 percent of the votes tallied, two incumbents and two newcomers lead the race for Mt. Pleasant Town Council.

In Tuesday's election, incumbent Thomasena Stokes-Marshall led all candidates with 3,655 votes. Incumbent Ken Glasson earned 3,259 votes and newcomers Chris O'Neal and Chris Nickels had 3,126 and 3,164 votes respectively.

Ninety-three percent of the votes are in for the four council seats up for grabs.

Mark Smith (3,062), Joe Bustos (2,948), incumbent Nick Collins (2,662), George A. Freeman (1,187) and Tate Mikell (328) round out the rest of the candidates.
