Moncks Corner chooses three for council, re-elects mayor

MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) -

Residents in Moncks Corner re-elected two councilmen and voted in a third to her first term on town council Tuesday.

David Dennis, Michael Locklear and Laura Perdue won three council seats up for grabs during Tuesday's municipal election in Moncks Corner.

Dennis received 293 votes, Locklear picked up 275 and Perdue had 213. Charlotte Cruppenink finished with 187 votes, 26 votes shy of earning a seat.

Mayor William W. Peagler, who ran unopposed, was re-elected.

Charles Staley ran unopposed for the city's water commission and he received 326 votes.

Results are still unofficial.
