Subway robbery suspect locks employee in bathroom

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - A Subway restaurant in West Ashley was held up just before 9:30 Wednesday morning. The suspect allegedly locked a store employee in the bathroom after the robbery.

Authorities say the Subway located at 3750 Savannah Highway was robbed. The suspect ordered the employee to put cash into a Subway bag and fled.

One of the store employees told deputies that a black man wearing a black ski mask, brown sweater and black jeans entered the store with a small caliber handgun and took money from the cash register.

Before leaving the store, the suspect ordered the employee in the bathroom and fled in an unknown direction. The suspect is described as a black male, 5'08", with medium build. No injuries were reported to deputies.
