EDISTO ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Three men wearing masks and carrying long guns kicked open the front door of an Edisto Island home Tuesday night and demanded money from the residents.
Charleston County sheriff's deputies were called to 831 Highway 174 around 11:19 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a burglary. One of the victims told deputies that three black males wearing masks and carrying long guns kicked open the front door and demanded money.
A female victim said she was in the bedroom with her newborn infant. One of the suspects came into the room and grabbed the baby, threw her on the bed and demanded money from the woman. She said she didn't know where the money was and then one of the suspect's hit her on the head with the back of his gun.
The women then suggested they take two boxes on the floor filled with toys and DVDs. After searching the home, the suspects fled in a dark vehicle. They stole the two boxes belonging to the victim.
The first suspect is described as a black male, 6'0" who weighs about 250 pounds. The second suspect is described as a black male, 5'08", weighing 150 pounds. The third suspect is describe as a black male, 5'08", weighing 150 pounds. All three suspects were dressed in all black and wearing a black mask. They were all armed with guns.
