MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) -  The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after a Berkeley County EMS employee allegedly took marijuana from the pants of an injured felony DUI suspect and tried to hide it while caring for the woman at the scene of a car crash last Thursday.

Highway Patrol Cpl. Bob Beres said the incident happened after a deadly car wreck on Broughton Road.

Troopers received a tip that the unidentified EMS employee was treating 33-year-old Shana Robinson, of Moncks Corner, when she discovered the marijuana and tried to hide it.

Beres said troopers have recovered the drugs but wouldn't say how they learned about the allegations.

The EMS employee has not been charged, according to Beres.
