Crews continue search in Ashley River for missing man

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Crews were searching for a missing man in the Ashley River near Duncan's boat landing on Tuesday.

Witnesses say they saw 26-year-old Preston Guyse launch his boat for a test run Sunday morning when the boat tilted and Guyse fell in the water.

Department of Natural Resource divers were in the water searching for his body. Charleston County rescue is using sonar to try and find him.

One of the witnesses said that the boat kept going around in circles where the victim fell in and the boat may have hit him. A female witness ran to a nearby gas station and called the police.

Charleston County Rescue, EMS, the Charleston County Marine and Dive Team, Coast Guard, North Charleston Marine and Dive Team, DNR, and North Charleston Chaplin responded.
