Citadel to hold memorial service for missing cadet

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Local law enforcement and the Coast Guard continue to be on the lookout for missing Citadel Cadet Joshua Edwards.

Citadel President Lt. Gen. John Rosa says Edwards' family has asked for a memorial service to be held on campus. The service is planned for 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Summerall Chapel.

Rosa said information Edwards left on his computer for friends indicated the cadet was in distress. Edwards missed several accountability checks last Thursday and was reported missing from campus that night.

Folly Beach police found his car on Friday, but so far there has been no sign of the 21 year old from Greer.

Anyone with information about Edwards whereabouts can call Citadel Public Safety at 843-953-5114.
