NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a man and a woman in a North Charleston neighborhood on Tuesday after they were caught with almost $2500 worth of stolen goods in a wheel barrow.
A resident on Dorsey Avenue called North Charleston Police Department officers around 11:30 a.m. to report that he'd seen a suspicious couple knocking on doors and asking for a ride and money. When officers arrived on scene, they said they saw 35-year-old Trevor Jerrod Johnson and 43-year-old Evelyn Faye Harrison in someone's yard.
Police said that right next to the couple stood a wheel barrow which contained the victim's television, computer, DVD player, computer games, some groceries, and a leather jacket.
Officers said Johnson and Harrison confessed to entering the victim's residence through an unlocked window and stealing the property. The property almost totaled $2500 in value, according to the incident report.
The suspects also said they were going to sell the property and use the money to buy alcohol and pills. Both are charged with 2nd-degree burglary.
