MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) - Berkeley County deputies arrested three men last Thursday after serving a search warrant in Moncks Corner during which officers seized over $67,000 worth of cocaine and crack cocaine.
The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office Drug Enforcement Unit responded to a home on Nelson Ferry Road on Nov. 10 after receiving complaints of drug activity. When they got there, agents said that 23-year-old Walter Bash, 26-year-old Curtis Shine, and 26-year-old Esau Branch tried to flee the scene.
Officers said they saw Branch drop a bag of cocaine on the ground. Authorities also said they found more cocaine and a scale inside a pickup truck in the driveway of the home.
Deputies seized over $67,000 worth of cocaine and cocaine base during the search, according to Berkeley County Sheriff's spokesman Dan Moon.
Bash was charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine and trafficking cocaine base within ½ mile of a school.
Branch and Shine, the resident of the Nelson Ferry home, were both charged with possession with intent to distribute within ½ mile of a school.
