Pro wrestling match benefits former Goose Creek coach

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Many Lowcountry residents are supporting former coach Phillip Morgan with a fundraiser.

Some Pro wrestlers stepped into the ring Sunday night at Goose Creek High School with more on their minds than just winning. The wrestling match is a fundraiser for Morgan who suffered a massive stroke last year.

Doctors didn't expect him to make it but he's defying the odds and becoming stronger everyday.

Morgan used to coach at Macedonia, Timberland and Stall High Schools.

The organizers of the fundraiser said the community has been amazing with an outpouring of support.

"He's had a hard time, he's struggling and we want to help him. We want to make his life easy and do something special for him that he's done for our own kids," said Debbie Zeigler, an organizer for the event.

All the money raised will go to Morgan and help him with medical expenses.

If you would like to donate, an account has been set up at First Citizen's Bank under his name.
