Man shot in hip after fight, shooting in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston police are investigating a shooting that injured a man Monday afternoon on Brantford Street.

Officers responded to the Dorchester Village mobile home park just before 4 p.m. Monday for a reported shooting.

Witnesses told police that a physical altercation between three men took place on Brantford Street.

Authorities say the suspect ran off, and later returned with a handgun. He fired five to nine shots, striking the 26-year-old victim in the hip. The victim was transported to MUSC with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are continuing the investigation.
