Runoff elections for District 11, Folly Beach on Tuesday

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Voters who live in Charleston City Council District 11, which covers part of James Island and West Ashley, will go to the polls Tuesday to vote in the runoff race between Laura Dukes Beck and Bill Moody.

Moody received 43% of the vote a few weeks ago but needed 50% to take the seat outright.  Beck, meanwhile, is running for District 11 for the first time.  She served on the Folly Beach City Council before moving.  She received 31% of the vote.

The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Click here to find out where you can vote.

The City of Folly Beach will hold its own runoff election on Tuesday for a seat on the City Council.  Dale Stuckey and Sandy Hickman are vying for the seat vacated by Councilman Tim Mallard, who opted not to seek re-election.

Back in early November Stuckey received 33% of the vote while Hickman took 25%.  Voters in Folly Beach can hit the polls at Baptist Fellowship Hall at 61 West Indian Avenue any time from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
