WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Windows were broken in several West Ashley businesses overnight and Charleston County sheriff's deputies are trying to figure out who vandalized the buildings.
Deputies responded to an alarm around 2:25 a.m. Tuesday at the business Up in Smoke located at 1722 Ashley River Road. Deputies found the front glass windows of the business broken out.
About 40 minutes later, deputies responded to Carpet Baggers at 3196 Marginal Road where the front glass windows were also broken.
Twenty minutes later, an alarm was tripped at a Subway restaurant on Savannah Highway. Deputies found more broken windows at Subway. Just down the road, deputies found more broken glass at Farmhouse Antiques.
After the fourth incident, deputies began checking other businesses on Savannah Highway and found glass broken at three more businesses, including Riley's Mexican Café, Lams Garden, and Tienda Senior Miguels.
A few locations reported minimal thefts, but nothing major.
