Drivers injured after car runs through red light in North Charleston

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

Authorities say two people were sent to the hospital Tuesday night after a car sped through a red light and crashed into another vehicle in North Charleston.

The North Charleston Police Department says around 8 p.m., an officer attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Ranger Drive and Dorchester Road. A police report states that the driver did not stop and sped off down Dorchester Road where he ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle.

Both drivers were transported to MUSC. Their conditions have not been released. 

The accident is being investigated by South Carolina Highway Patrol.
