CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The City of Charleston will begin the next phase of work on the Septima Clark Parkway. Part of the work will include the closure of the two inside lanes near the median starting Dec. 1 through May of next year.
The work will help improve storm drainage problems.
Mayor Joe Riley says the first few days of the road closure will be the most difficult as drivers adjust to the new traffic patterns.
"Our team has very hard to develop alternate routes because there are several options that motorist have to using the Crosstown to get to various places," said Mayor Riley.
The city has set up a website for drivers to follow to get up to date information on the road work.
