CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Court officials say a Charleston woman was sentenced to time already served and three years in a supervised release program for embezzling $45,000 from Carolina First through a fraudulent loan scheme.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Rhett DeHart said that 28-year-old Adrian Carroll was sentenced on Wednesday after pleading guilty in June.
In addition, Carroll will also be under home detention and electronically monitored for 12 months during her supervised release.
DeHart said since Carroll had paid the money back two years before she was charged, the prosecution did not reject the sentence.
In court, Carroll said she ran the fraudulent loan scheme from 2008 through 2009.
