Bishop to sign revised policy on child abuse allegations

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone is expected to sign a revised policy on child abuse allegations.

The Diocese of Charleston says the revised policy addresses the ongoing effort to provide a safe environment for children.

According to church officials, the policy introduces the diocese's new rules for using social media in communicating with young people and addresses the protocol for investigating allegations made against church personnel.

The bishop will sign the policy Monday morning.
