SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - A 2.2 magnitude earthquake was reported early Wednesday morning near Summerville, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The USGS says the earthquake was recorded at 4:48 a.m. about five miles from Summerville, Ladson and Lincolnville.
These minor quakes are nothing new to the area. A 2.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded outside Summerville on Oct. 17 and a 1.5 is on record Feb. 25. A 2.8 earthquake was reported on May 12, 2010.
