Cops: Man arrested after stealing $10 from elderly woman

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) -

North Charleston police arrested a 17-year-old man minutes after two crimes at Northwoods Mall on Wednesday afternoon.

Nicholas Dice, of Law Boulevard in North Charleston, was in custody less than 30 minutes after an armed robbery and attempted armed robbery Wednesday. Police say he robbed an elderly woman of $10.

On Thursday, detectives arrested 21-year-old Stormy Bleu Waters, of Summerville, and charged with armed robbery and attempted armed robbery for his role in the robberies.

Through the investigation, police discovered that Waters was acting in concert with Dice to commit the robberies.

At 12:48 p.m., police officers responded to Jason's Deli at Northwoods Mall to investigate an attempted armed robbery. Witnesses told police that the suspect began to demand money, but when the victim began to walk away the subject fled.

As officers were speaking to the victim, around 1:02 p.m., another armed robbery was reported at Belk. The description of the suspect was similar to the first incident.

In the second incident, police say the suspect approached an elderly woman, presented a firearm and stole $10 from her. The suspect then fled on foot.

Several witnesses assisted responding officers by providing the suspect's direction of travel. Officers then observed the suspect running near the Carolina Ice Palace. The suspect was apprehended and identified as the suspect in both incidents. Police recovered a weapon.

The suspect is charged with armed robbery and attempted armed robbery. He will face a bond court judge Thursday.
