3rd attempted abduction victim comes forward; Suspect at large

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A third woman has come forward claiming that she too was the victim of an attempted abduction by a man driving a red-colored Jeep Cherokee.

On Monday, North Charleston police released a sketch of a suspect they say attempted to abduct a 12-year-old girl on Dec. 9. Police say the man tried to take her into his red Jeep last week. A second attempted abduction was reported on Nov. 10 by a 23-year-old woman.

After reading the story on the Live 5 News Facebook page about those two incidents, a 32-year-old woman says the same type of attack happened to her too.

The woman says she reported the attempted abduction to Hanahan police in September. She says she was running at night on Lakeview Drive, when the man in the car drove up beside her and squeezed her butt. She says he then asked her for sex.

When the woman said no, he grabbed her and tried to pull her in the car. The woman says she was able to elbow the suspect and then ran into her house.

The victims have described the suspect as a white male between 20 and 30 years old. He has blonde hair, blue eyes and has freckles. The victim in Hanahan says the suspect was wearing a ball cap at the time of her attack.

The victim describes the Jeep Cherokee as being burgundy in color. Other victims in North Charleston describe the Jeep as red with black stripes or black paneling, with a Jeep license plate border.
